In this project we worked on a novel implementation of the GPUFreq Scaling Governors, a Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) model implemented in the Android Linux kernel for dynamically scaling smartphone Graphical Processing Units (GPUs).

Existing RDF engines are designed for specific hardware architectures; porting to a different architecture (e.g., GPUs) entails enormous implementation effort. We explore sparse matrix algebra as an alternative for designing a portable, scalable and efficient RDF engine.

In the next months, KAUST expects to place into service Shaheen-3, a supercomputer with a GPU partition whose planned 1 Exaflop/s HPL AI capability would rank it in the Top 6 globally if delivered today.

BORG team win at the KAUST-NVIDIA GPU Hackathon 2022

Congratulations to Senay Kafkas, Maxat Kulmanov and Fernando Zhapa Camacho of the Bio-Ontology Research Group (BORG) on winning at the KAUST-NVIDIA GPU Hackathon 2022. The 8th edition of the Hackathon on Accelerating Scientific Applications using Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) was held at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), twelve teams of students and researchers enjoyed the opportunity to accelerate their codes in GPU’s under the guidance of expert mentors of NVIDIA, Codee, KAUST Supercomputing Lab (KSL) and KAUST core labs.
